Why were cases back "then" beige??

Just wondering, why were cases beige back in the "olden days" :p beige?

As beige is the worst colour for a case ever. how come they werent black or something nicer?

Dunno? It's like saying why did people wear shell suits in the 90's? :D
 
could have been as they were seen as business machines and tucked away or thought of like the fax or copier machine hanging around the office. I remember though that there were some variation in the Bieige and also I came across some old desktop cases from HP or similar that were light grey with powdwer blue bits slapped on. This would have been around 97/98.

My take on it, 1970's beige was in.

Computers keep to standards, and stick to them usually.

Beige stuck as an unofficial ISO...

Either that or it was just cheaper to do.
 
PC's were business machines. Mostly those machines were beige (photocopier, fax machine, etc).
