every time i select turn off at windows it just reboots

i press the power button and it turns off alright, but every time i try and actually turn it off normally, it just restarts

only way to turn it off is to interupt it mid boot.

any ideas why my PC has suddenly started doing this ?

could try going to control panel\system properties\advanced\startup and recovery then in the system failure bit turning off automatically restart, that would bring up a blue screen should anything be wrong... I remember I had this on my old computer when I started using a pci vga card for a bit, I had to delete some random chipset driver...

What virus protection are you using, Norton by any chance? I think you'll find it's caused by a piece of spyware running in the background that won't shut down.

In bios under power management, disable the option "Wake-up by ! PME# of PCI" "

Also check all the power saving and wake up options.

could be power supply not delivery 24A on the 12v rail .

the IRQ error sounds like a dodgy driver . Do you have HP printer software installled ?

I haven't found the post in the sound forum and have went through a few pages, it wouldn't be something like onboard audio interfering with said creative product? (assuming it's a sound card)

Have you updated any drivers recently? Doesn't really make sense that it would just suddenly start doing it on it's own.

ive un-installed all creative drivers

run driver cleaner in safe mode

moved the sound card to a different IRQ slot

and re-installed

appears to have sorted both the crashing and the IRQ_NOT_LESS error

god bless "quality" creative products.
