Why would someone do this?

Been looking at E46 330i's and also dreaming about an E46 M3, as you do. I know the Purple/Violet colour on M3's isn't particularly common and IMO does look good, but I still can't get my head around why someone would do this to a car like the M3. :eek:

'Individual Spec' it certainly is. Tasteful it certainly isn't.
