at the bottom of this page you can see our blog feed in the blue section.

the blog feed titles are showing incorrectly with some characters completely wrong. i assume i need to convert the title's to a different format or something but unsure what it would be i need to google.

don't need a word for word explanation, but perhaps the words to google to find a solution.

thanks

Its a Character Encoding issue, try changing your charset from ISO-8859-1 to UTF-8.

If you change in the browser you will see that its appears correctly.

thanks. that does solve the issue with the footer but creates issues with some of my content now has other issues, for instance on this page you can see the ' show as questions marks. i assume the solution to that is to add backslashes to each ', however is there any other way to solve it so ' and other characters don't have to have a backslash in front of them?

edit: actually it looks like it happens with ’ that have been copied when creating the content in word. I never knew there was 2 types of apostrophe. i'll have to go through each page i guess and make sure each ’ is replace with '

There are several types of quote/apostrophe characters for different typographic uses. When you type matching quotes (' / ") in Word, what it actually does is replace the "dumb" quote characters with the proper typographic equivalent - causing the problems you describe.

You could either properly encode the characters to HTML entities (search "html smart quotes" for more info) or you could use some method to change the "smart" quotes back to "dumb" ones.
