NB @ 2.9ghz (CPU @ 4.06ghz).

that doesn't show anything apart from your overclocked 6 core results, what were the results at stock?...what were the results when all the other CPUs were O/C fully?

Im not disagreeing that O/C the northbridge will help you memory bandwidth but the above graph didn't show that, ive been trying to find out if the improvement is worth the extra voltage/heat.

Dirt 2 Ultra, 1920x1080, 4xAA, 5850 @ 975/1250, PII X6 @ 4.018Ghz, NB/HT @ 2.87Ghz
Min FPS = 73.8, ave FPS = 84.1

As above but NB/HT @ 2.009Ghz
Min FPS = 67.0, ave FPS = 81.6

Now dirt2 is pretty GPU intensive at those settings and it still gives a decent increase, especially to min FPS.

How much extra voltage to the NB?

my NB and HT are running at 2.4 at the moment, as i have only used the multiplier to overclock to 4Ghz on the CPU.

I've not clocked my Phenom II at all... (Shame)
My old 9600 yeilded better results when the NB was clocked.
I believe there was a good while where generic "overclocked results" were ignored by most owners as they always just upped the clock speed.
Tempted to try the 955 out tonight actually, just because this thread has reminded me...

It makes the difference between the phenom II being competative with the core2 to being competative to the core i5/i7.

I'm running 1.325v to the NB to get it to 2.9ghz, it needs a lot less for 2.8ghz.

The hexs tend to clock well on the NB.

done a bit of testing..

at 3.8Ghz 2.4

at 3.8Ghz 2.6

As you can see it completed the test 30 seconds faster with no increase in voltage or temps

will try at 2.8 and see if the decrease in time continues.

Your ram speed is quite slow, as you scale the NB you need to scale your ram to get the most out of it.

Also increasing ram speed without increasing NB speed does not do much either.

Mine is at 773mhz 7-7-7-20 but it need not be that extreme.

my ram is 1333 and with no cooling shroud so haven't got the headroom to push higher i need to keep it at 1.5V.
i might have a play with the bus speed have had it running at 19.5x 205 4Ghz Ht 2500 Nb2700 but isnt stable yet.
