hi all
can anybody tell me why when all ddr slots are
used you get a lower overclock.
ive seen this said all over the place.
i started with 2gigs of geil and clocked my E6600
to 3.6 then added another 2giggs and still manage 3.6
and seems ok, lucky i guess.
just thinking why is clocking worse with all ddr slots full?
thanks

Luck of the draw. One stick of ram has 8 chips on it. 4x of the same means 32 chips. More chips = more likely that 1 out of those 32 chips will be a tad iffy and hold your clocks back, as your clocks/timings can only be as fast as the slowest chip out of the lot.
