For £200 you get a cpu thats 3ghz, has a 1333fsb. If you want a similar cpu at the lower bus speed you're talking the extreme edition 2.93 ghz which was around £600 last i looked.

Basically it's down to Intel moving towards quad core processors as being the high performance parts, they're basically filling that space above £200 now.

im pretty certain those x6800's are discontinued in most places/going to be.

they were crazily overpriced for what they were

Yup :( I paid £800 for mine when they were released! Im now debating as to what upgrade to get. Interested in Q6600 but not sure if its worth it.

The pricing for cpu's for small 200 odd mhz bumps in clockspeed is pretty mad. Don't se how they justify 200+£ for a small clockspeed bump.

Do you think its a worthwhile upgrade? I hear they are easily overclocked but run at v high temps.

So afforable :p but ive just bought a new 2407. :p

Not sure if £200 is a good price not knowning how they overclock, but if they can get to 4ghz then yeah id think well priced, when is the next intel price drop?
