Hi guys this is my first post. I have recently been looking at buying a wifi range booster as my signal won't reach the back of my garden in my garage. Has anyone any recommendations on which one to buy cause there is so many out there at the moment. Don't really want to lose any speed and have a good signal. Hope someone can help me and guide me in the right direction. Thanks in advance

First of all I would recommend you create a wired connection between your two access points for best performance.

1) What kind of budget do you have?
2) Who is your ISP and what modem/router are you currently using?

I would suggest maybe buying a decent cable modem which gives you the option of using it in "access point" mode, it'll provide you more flexibility in the future.

Any wifi extender is going to reduce your speed. You'd be better of buying a Wireless AP. Which you could put on the outside of your house or at least in a better location but would need a run of network cable to connect to your Router.

I am currently with virgin media using the super hub 3.0. Budget will range anywhere up to around £100. It will only be for gaming cause that's where I'm moving my Xbox and PS4 lol! Thanks tho guys all suggestions are much appreciated

I have the exact same setup (VM SuperHUB the newest version and xbox 1 and ps4 in the furtherest point away in home) as you and I bought this

ASUS RP-AC68U AC1900 USB 3.0 Range Extender with 5 Gigabit Ports Signal Indicator (Repeater Mode, Access Point Mode, Media Bridge Mode, 4K Video Playback) - Black/Red

I have also tested it various different ways in different rooms etc and the best setup for it is. Have it placed in the best position possible for wifi with the router. You can test this using wifi analyser and moving from place to place. Then you wire all your products into the ASUS RP-AC68U. So your running wired to the extender and the extender is placed in the best position possible. It then connects to the superhub through wifi. Obviously wired is better but I would need to start ripping up carpet and drilling holes in walls/ceilings which isn't my forte. By doing this I get more than enough speed for gaming.
