I've got fed up with carrying my 10d+Sigma 15-30mm around with me all the time so I'm in the market for a digital compact as a carry around.

It needs to have a very wide angle lens on it as I mostly shoot landscapes. Don't care about the tele capability of the camera.

Can you get digi compacts that go down to the equivelant of 20mm on a 35mm camera?

I can't seem to find many that go wider than 28.

Nikon have a coolpix (8400) out to 24, but it's not exactly compact, a few compacts have WA converts to get to around 21ish... (Ricoh)

The Kodak EASYSHARE V570 Dual Lens Digital Camera goes down to 23mm (equiv.) Dunno if you'll get wider than that on a compact. Never used the camera tho, so cannot comment on it's quality.

that twin lens thing looks interesting....

I don't think you'll get one at 20mm. I think aztechnology's advise is the best. Nikon coolpix 8400 at 24mm. May be possible to get a 3rd party WA converter for it but quality will suffer.

I've been looking for a compact with a widish angle lens.

The best i found at 28mm where:

Ricoh GR Digital - 28mm - £399
Canon S80 - 28mm-100mm - £310
Ricoh R4 - 28mm-200mm - £234
Caplio GX8 - 28-85mm - £249
Panasonic FX01 - 28mm-100mm - £219

The Panasonic is the smallest and cheapest and i think is what i'm about to buy.

Also the Ricoh GR Digital and Canon S80 have wide convert lenses to take them to about 21mm for about £100. I think you can also get wide converter lenses for Canon A series which take them to about 24mm too.

I looked at that Kodak dual lense camera, but the picture quality looked pretty bad tbh :(
