Just curious if the original Apple supplied cable for wide port devices is exactly the same for both ipod and iPad?

I recently bought a cable from the pound shop it explicitly stated "for iPod/iPhone only" I didn't read too closely and got it for my iPad and noticed that it charges very very slowly.

Was wonder if this is the same for the Apple supplied cables or did this third party manufacturer cheap out on the copper and make an inferior one that cannot transfer full current and just slapped on a "for iPod/iPhone only" label on.

Thanks for reading.

I believe the official Apple cables are all the same, it's just the adapters that are rated at different levels. Using an iPad charger for an iPhone/iPod will result in them charging VERY quickly where as using an iPhone/iPod charger for an iPad will give you very slow charging times

Ok great. Someone lost my iPad charger cable and they promised to send me their iPhone charger cable in exchange as they have a spare.

So no problems in taking it then? They live in Manc (I'm in London) So they're going to post it. I don't like aftermarket cables, and don't want to charge them £20 for an official one.
