Widening the network

Okay, bear with me on this one... a guy I know has a converted barn in varying stages of development and I'm helping him try and sort his (mainly) wifi network out.

He has a bit of kit from TalkTalk which is okay for devices in the very near vicinity but he needs the signal to reach the other end of the property, about 70 foot but with lots of thick stone walls in between.

I've loaned him some powerline adaptors, all the electrics are new btw, to bring connectivity to the other end of the building and I'm trying to configure a DSL Netgear router to act as an access point. This is where I'm having problems though. The TalkTalk kit can act as the dhcp server but how do I join the Netgear router to the existing network to serve only as an access point? Do I need to assign it a new address or anything? And will it automatically pick up what it needs to from the TalkTalk kit, via the powerline adaptors? This is the Netgear router, I'm just assuming it can do what I'm proposing

Varying stages of development..

Throw the powerline in the bin, run cat5e or cat6 cables to where he'd possibly like wall ports and ceiling mounted access points.

As said you should suggest running a network cable. Power line adapters are utter poop.

YMMV but i find powerline adapters perfectly adequate.

If the building is in the midst of being developed the wiring it up now is probably a good shout, but there is nothing wrong with powerline adapters as an easy resolution, just don't expect full blown speeds.
