Same old Q, are there *any* widescreen monitors that support 1:1 pixel mapping (to display 4:3 resolutions without stretching) for about £200? *might* be able to push £250.

Thanks :)

I think it needs to be a new'ish nvidia card. Tried it with a 5700 card and the option was'nt available. Probably safe if you have a geforce 6 upwards.

Hey Jake. :)

Not sure if you have a Nvidia card but as said, you can set the NV control panel to pad out any less-than-native resolution (4:3 or wide) with a black surround, as long as you're using DVI.

Hey mate :)

This is for my brother really, and he has a 9800 Pro (which he got from me last week, lol), so that option is a no-go.

If worst comes to the worst, we'll have to go standard 4:3 screen, it's just that widescreen would be ideal for him... he just plays a lot of 4:3-only games too.

What's the cheapest screen people know of with 1:1 pixel mapping? I could pursuade him to save more.

i might be after the same sort of thing... i got an ATI card (X1900XT), so i need to know if it can do it too... ;)
