as title i am looking for a nice new monitor to get before i get a dx10 card.
it must be:
- widescreen format
- 20"+ the bigger the better lol
- 300quid max (and that's at a stretch ofcourse less is better)

I use my computer for everything, movies, games, photoshopping and the odd bit of video editing. so ofcourse i need the best pic i can get.

If people could also post pics of their monitors (if the fit in with the above) that would be great!

Cheers

aw man that's very nice looking and at a good price, very tempting but...i have been told samsung screens are not the best and i'm better sticking to the likes of DELL

Samsung screens not the best? Lol. Do you know who manufactures those panels? :o

But yea, if you want to go with the dell, so be it. The 2007WFP is a nice screen but its around £280.

but what's better? i do like the samsung i have to admit, any reviews of it or is it not out?

There is a huge thread for that monitor here, might want to wait for a few days till someone reviews it. Or if you cannot wait at all, the dell 2007WFP seem to be a good one.

But you should ask the monitor guru - badass to recommend you some.

ok cheers, atm i am saving for one but i want to know how much i need to gather together to get a nice monitor lol.

Cheers

I'm in the same situation, I'm still struggling to find a screen that will satisfy my needs :p

I've been looking everywhere now, and a lot of the time I am reading about people being unhappy with their screens e.g. the asus thread featured here. So it kinda makes me re-think every possible choice. Ideally, I may have to wait for a while longer an purchase the more expensive S-IPS panels.

get the dell 2007wfp, advice from an armoy man nick, nice too see someone local on here m8

omg you are from armoy? i'm from ballymoney lol :O (Y)

well everyone has suggested the 2007WFP all looks good then

It not always about the size ;)

If you are gaming then I'd recommend a 20" over a 22". Both share the same native resolution of 1600 x 1050 which means the extra 2 of the 22" will show a slight degradation of quality. I had the Samsung 22" for a few days and def noticed bad Aliasing during CoH even with AA at 4x. However, coming from a decent CRT that i was, maybe i was expecting too much. Then again, at £300+ why shouldn't I?

I have opted for a 20" panel and this looks a superb choice :

iv heard good things about those panels but im still dubious about them as there samsung and iv had bad experences with samsund flat panels before im sticking with dell atm as my dell`s do me proud :D

This is a new model... the 22" has great reviews but for gaming this will be better. Fingers crossed :D

Samsung make the vast majority of flat panels out there.
