I'm thinking of getting a widescreen, i'm aware that a number of games don't support the resolutions but it seems that more are starting to. Before I make the plunge though i have a few questions!

  • On the desktop you obvioulsy have to move your mouse further to the left or right to get to either side of your desktop, is this the same when changing a camera position in games?
  • What response time should i be looking for?
  • What games have you had issues with?
  • I currently have a dell 1280x1024 TFT, if i use the monitor at any other resolution it looks really poor does this tend to be the case with the widescreens currently on the market?
  • What would be your recomendations?

I've currently got a HIS ATI X800 GTO 256Mb i get away with running oblivion at 1280x1024 on medium settings, the higher res will seirously slow things down. With it running on a higer res though does it look reasonably smooth without AA?
