Widescreen monitors?

Hi guys, quick question (are they ever quick?!).

I'm looking to upgrade my monitor in the near future and I Really like the look of the widescreen curved monitors. I have a RTX 2070 super so have a bit of power currently although I tend to upgrade my gpu once every 4 years ish.

Based on that I thought I'd also go from 1080p to 1440p as that seems like a sweet spot between 1080p and 4k that should allow me to use the same gpu for 4 years with ultra settings. I appreciate there's no definite here and there's a degree of clairvoyancy!

So my real question: what size screen am I looking at? I like the wide widescreens but I'm assuming the bigger the screen, the more the GPU demand? Regardless of being 1440p?

The 27" are a little bit bigger than what I've got but they don't look like what I'm after. I'm aiming for one of those minimal desktop setups where the monitor takes a huge portion of it, if that makes sense.

Anyway, all feedback as always would be hugely appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

It's not the screen size but the resolution which is important for framerates. A widescreen will either be 16:9 or 21:9 aspect ratio. That means the resolution will either be 2560x1440 or 3440x1440. The wider the screen then the more pixels and the faster GPU you need.

16:9 2560x1440 is a normal monitor and 21:9 3440x1440 are the widescreens which are often curved. You can get these in a variety of physical sizes but its the resolution, and therrfore the number of pixels the GPU has to drive, which is important for speed.
