Hello everybody,

I have one 19" TFT (Viewsonic VX912B) which i am very pleased with but like most people i still wouldn't mind more space to work with.

I'd like to hear some peoples views on wether having one big monitor, like a 24" Dell Widescreen, is better or not than having 2 x 19" TFT side by side.

Now i play games, do allot of of multi tasking and having to keep swapping between different apps and folders etc to do my work.

Only main difference i can see for me would be the difference in price, 2 x £250 monitors = £500, whereas the Dell is £760. I already have one 19" tft so that helps my wallet too.

Any pics of your dual screen setups would be appreciated too :p
Thanks allot :)
Ryan

Why settle for a single 24" TFT?

:)

Choosing between a single 24" and dual 17" screens is a toughie.. I think I'd probably go for the single 24".

Assuming your average 19" LCD has a resolution of 1280x1024, you will get more desktop real estate with the dual screen setup than the single 24" widescreen (2,621,440 pixels compared to 2,304,000). Therefore if you are interested in office use (multiple windows open at once, multi-tasking etc.) you would be better off with the dual screens. However, if you are going to use the setup for watching DVDs or playing games a lot, I think the widescreen would make for a more immersing viewing experience.

Of course this is just my personal opinion, and you may have an intense hatred of bezels or something ;)

I agree with the post above, i mainly game and watch stuff on my pc, and i had a dell 2405fpw. But in a few days my 17inch tft arrives and i've got a 20 inch belinea atm. So i'll let you know how it is.. I'm hoping that i can watch tv while i surf. And when i play cs i can surf while i'm dead :D

How would you do that ?Can you run CS in a window or something?
(I just dont see how you can get out of the game easily to do some surfing)

well atm, i run full screen and alt tab out, when i had my 24inch i just ran it in a window and surfed at the same time :)
Its v.easy if you run it windowed.
