Widescreen & Photoshop Question Pls

Can't quite work out this widescreen thing, if I resize a digi-cam picture to 640 x 480 in Adobe Photoshop (I do this a lot) but I'm using say a 22" widescreen monitor in place of my 19" CRT - is it still the 640 x 480 format exactly as before on the CRT ? I mean will it look exactly the same withing Photoshop ? Or will it appear stretched, but still 640 x 480 ? Will Photoshop itself be stretched ?

I fancy one of these Belinia 22" TFT's but don't want it to knock my photo editing to pot

Yes, it will look exactly the same. You'll have lots more room to work in photoshop, so you can have 2 640x480 images side by side with plenty of spare room.

Think of widescreen as adding an extra piece of monitor, and not as stretching what you already have.
