Hi

I currently have a cheap 17" CRT that I run at 1280x1024 for desktop use and 1024x768 to 1280x1024 for games. Im getting tired of the flicker and distrotion caused by it being next to a CRT TV, and also would like the masses of desk space it takes up back.

ive been looking at the Hanns-G HW191D (link ) for a while, since they first appeared, and they seem to be the best for the money. I am a poor student so have no more than £130 to spend on a monitor. I had settled that a 19" widescreen would be the best I could get for that money (£50+ more for an extra inch....), but suddenly the Viewsonic VA2012W-2 had appeard at cheap tastic pricing (link ). Now im in a dilema:

The Hanns-G is smaller, but has very good reviews and DVI
The Viewsonic is larger, but the reviews I have read have not been so good.

Theres also the other issue of 1440x900 giving me better games performance on my 7800GT than the 1680x1050 of the Viewsonic (turn on more AA and AF wothout loosing framerates).

My main use is office applications, web, general PC use, gamming, and movies.

So, the basic question is, do i go for a very good 19", or a worse performing 20"?

Many thanks

Theres only one way to think about it:

Would you rather have an average 6" penis and be great in bed or an 8" corker and be awful :)

I'd go for the Hanns-G, although smaller, it has as you said better reviews and DVI, i prefer quality over quantity these days...

also, a minor thing, i think the Hanns-G is so much nicer looking than the Viewsonic. Dont like the grilled speaker on the bottom
