wierd eyefinity issue

iv got 3 monitors (epic in games) but 1 has stopped working
the middle 1 works fine
the left hand 1 only shows the bootup screen then switches off when it gets inot windows
the right hand monitor DOESNT show the boot screen but does work in windows

so 2 monitors are on in windows
iv been into ccc and it does detect the left hand monitor but it says disabled i cant find out how to enable it!
 
yeh everything was fine

on a 7970 it was
1dvi
1 dpa
1 mini dpa

iv got a 5870 in atm
2 dvi
1 dpa
the dpas are all active and i bought a new dpa and a new dvi lead
 
You're using a HD 5870 now.

Have you swapped graphics cards because 3 monitors wasn't working or has it stopped working since you swapped?

How exactly is the monitor connected which isn't working?
 
the new gfx card (7970) is back at ocuk because its faulty
the monitor problem is the same on both cards

iv tried the monitor with a dvi lead and a dpa with no joy

in ccc it knows the monitor is there but says its disabled create new eyefinity group only shows the other 2 monitors.
suprise suprise it doesnt tell me how to enable the monitor

1) DVI from the graphics card to DVI on the monitor
2) DVI from the graphics card to DVI on the monitor
3) DP from the graphics card to DVI on the monitor using an active DP to DVI adapter

Is it the one with the adapter which isn't working?

Do you only have the one adapter?
 
Hi there,

May I ask what the model number of the full-size Display port to DVI adapter is?

Also, do you have a full size DP (male) to mini DP (female) cable to hand so you could try out the mini-DP adapter you had used with your 7970.

1st part yes but iv tried different connections and its the same ie left hand monitor with dvi and active dpa-dvi converter and its the same.
iv also bought another active dvi - dpa lead and another dvi lead all with the same result

i think the dpa converters are sapphire theyr deffinately both active though

i dont have dpa to mini dpa converter and i dont have the 7970 here atm either
i run (or ran) 5760x1200 res btw
 
have u tried going into ccc and removing all monitor profiles, ie start from scratch.

my monitors sometimes started to bugger up for no reason.
