I've been having some troubles recently with both my cpu and gpu clients, they were stopping by themselves and were saying i completed WU's worth 9 points.

I re-installed using that tool Biffa posted up and have tried again but i'm getting strange amounts of gpu usage.

here's a quick screenie, also what you think of my OC, don't really know what's good but this seems ok, i'm getting 16,757ppd

Is it supposed to dip down every now and then and hover around %95 usage?

GPU3 fluctuates a bit, have you set the GPU client priorty to low instead of idle (low is slightly higher priority.

Are you crunching on the CPU at the same time? 16.7K PPD is around the right amount for a GTX480 depending on what work unit you are folding.

No it is on whatever is default, idle i think.

Yes i am crunching on the cpu on 3 of 4 cores (i5 760 @4.2)

I get 25k ppd for both.

try punching the gpu up to low in the client see if that makes a difference

I'm using that Tracker programme you posted up and can't find anywhere to change it, or any files that look like they can be changed manually, any ideas?

Can you see anywhere in the app what directory it installs the gpu client into? And the name of the exe?

You then need to stop the gpu client in Tracker, open a command prompt and cd to the directory where the gpu client is installed. Then run the exe with -configonly flag. When it asks if you want to change advanced settings say "yes" , the next question will be:

Core Priority (idle/low) [idle]? _

Type "low" then hit enter for all the other questions till you get to the end.

Then exit out of the command prompt and restart the gpu with the tracker appl.

Yeah i can find the .exe's, sorry but could you explain how to get to the file via cmd, it's in users/nick.

Stop the GPU folding.

Type CMD into the Start search, right click, run as administrator, press yes. Type:

cd /users/nick/whateverfolderitisin

Obviously changing "whateverfolderitisin" to the folder that the GPU folding exe is located in.

Find the name of the .exe using the command "dir" then type the exe name -configonly (so for example "fahgpu -configonly" and follow Biffas instructions.

Cheers, that worked. But i'm stillg getting those fluctuations.

If that doesn't work I wouldn't worry too much, just had a quick check and my 460s do a similar thing:

Looks like it's normal then, i'd just never seen it before so panicked, thankyou for the help guys.
