Hi,

had a answer phone message and a guy said please can you call me at my office on 0701 2903142

stupidly i called him ( using work phone ) as i thought it was a client or somebody

operator said please wait while we connect you and i can hear ringing but nothing else.

scam ?

Probably

The last few days i been getting a call on my mobile but everytime i answer it, it connects to me freedom finance and puts me on hold . Which is strange as ive never used freedom finance, dont see the need to:p but why would my phone ring as if its an incoming call and when i go to answer it...it dials out to this number...hmmmm

0701 numbers are like 0870 numbers, not mobile numbers

Correct. 070xxxx are NOT mobile numbers and WILL incur a charge if you call them as they aren't taken out of your inclusive minutes on most mobile networks.

They are personal number services and charges vary quite dramatically. They are frequently used as redirect services and the like.

If it's important, they'll call back.

Sounds a bit fishy if you don't even know the guy, did he say who he was/where he's from?

It's not a mobile. It's a private number where the owner of it sets the rate of call charges to it so it could be expensive. Avoid.

scam, phone the police tbh, iirc theres a group going around leaving these messages on people answerphones and then you get charged £5 a min or somthing stupid like that to call them back.

Icstis gave me this:

This is what we know about the number you entered (07012903142).

ICSTIS does not regulate this type of number. However we can tell you the following.
This is classified as being used for Personal Numbering.
It is provided by Band-X Limited.

So i'm guessing you're still none the wiser

£1.50 a min is the max you can be charged.

thanks again guys.

was just a guy who said, fairly quietly so can't tell if he had an accent.

"Can you please call me back in my office on 0701.... "

That's it, I was expecting a call from someone so was bad timing i guess !
