Just bought a 3870 ATI sapphire, and samsung 223bw monitor plugged through dvi, currently running vista 64, latestest cat drivers (tried 8.3/8.4) and reference samsung driver with windows and it wont let me go above 1024x768 res, really wierd, dunno what else to try??

why are you using the samsung drivers? do you have to use them: i mean, doesn't the monitor get automatically detected?
re-format?
i had a similar problem with my crt i changed the res and the screen went black(out of snyc msg)
i solved this by turning of pc and swapping the monitor to the 2nd monitor slot on the gfx card.
when i booted back up windows detected my monitor and i could use a higher res.
maybe worth a try rather than reformatting.
