Morning ocuk, my tv is giving me no end of grief! Please give me a little slack with the description of the problem :p

I have a Polaroid FLU 2632 26" HD LCD TV and for some reason unknown to me whenever i load a game (cs:s) the game defaults to 650x480 and i cannot select 1360x728 in the video options. I cant remember if i fixed this but the desktop would also reset to a lower rez. Odder still is i was playing Company of Heroes and all was well (i managed to fix the res prob), next morning i load it up and CCC reports it had to reset the gfx unit.. now COH says it doesnt detect a widescreen mode and my GFX card is crashing more and more often. My previous res fix has reset itself and i cant remember what i did to get that brief evening of gaming fun :(

TV as above
X1900XT 512MB with latest drivers
2.2 AMD Dual Core
2GB RAM
Running powerstrip (although using it has proved tricky)

Please help me!

Any ideas? I was so desperate for suggestions i went to see the purple shirted brigade and their tech desk were typically unhelpful. Coming so close to launching the tv out of my window!

None of my rig is overclocked in the slightest (never tried) if it makes any difference

have you tried rivatuner?

You can make your own resolutions on it and have it load when you boot windows

Thanks for the advice, never heard of riva tuner so i'll check that out when i get home.

I loath to think its a gfx problem even with all the crashes. It's run flawlessly since the day i bought it and its a little too convieniant, will check how long my warrenty is... bought it from this very store in novemeber 06 i do believe

A friend mentioned i may have forced z-bit buffering on (or something along those lines), which is entirely possible with my fiddiling with AA/AF settings that i know nothing about... could that be the cause of my woe?
