Hi my system has been running fine for a while but the other day i noticed this problem when i powered down my pc.
I turned off the power etc and i went to turn my pc back on but when i pressed the on switch nothing happened - the cpu and chassis fan span for around 1 second then stopped. So i turned off my PSU then turned it back on and tried again. The same thing happened so i tried pressing the switch a few times and then it booted up. However when it booted back up my date and time + cpu clock settings had been reset.
Now each time i want to turn my pc back on after a power down i must flick the psu switch on and off then press the power button on my case a few times.
Anyone here know any the cause of this problem? or if it is dangerous at all. cheers
PS. i hear it could be my mobo battery needing replacing.
My specs are:
AMD 3500+ 64
2gig DDR 400 ram
7900gt
600watt jeantech psu
1x ide hard drive (120gig)
2x sata hard drive (160gig and 250gig)
1x dvd drive (ide)
i checked all cables etc. no loose connections
Cheers
