hi

recently upgraded to a bigger harddrive and decided to do a fresh install of vista
when installing vista it randomly stops in different places everytime
sometimes its when unpacking the files other times its when its actually installing

at the moment i am stuck with a nice new harddrive which i cant install an os on :(

when i put the original harddrive in it all boots up and works fine (vista ultimate 32)

the only thing i have done recently is update my bios on my gigabyte ds4

i did try and install xp , got it all up and running lovely and then it locked up and i recieved a nice boot dlr is missing on reboot

just wondering if my system is overloaded now with 5 harddrives :(

heres my specs

gigabyte ds4
e6300 running at stock
2 x 1gb of ballistix pc5300 ( got another 2gb to go in)
4 x seagate 500gb harddrives
1 x samsung 750gb
corsair 520w psu
antec p180 case

what i might do is move some of the data off one of the 500gb drives and try installing on that

i have also got an original vista 64 disc which i may try , but i am a bit worried about the media centre side of things and codecs as most of my files are in mkv format

any help would be welcome ;)

got a wierd one with the 750gb drive it keeps dissapearing in vista after i have copied large amounts of data to it
after a reboot it shows up fine
