This is a bit of a odd problem but I'm hoping someone's got some ideas. I've got some xvids on my d drive (in d:/media/movies) and I've told the media centre library to watch that folder; so basically the contents of that folder should appear in the movies library. But it doesn't. However if I tell the media centre to stop watching d:/recorded tv then the whole d: drive appears in the media library - though not ideal this does mean I can navigate to d:/media/movies and play my xvids. Unfortunately each time I restart the d:/recorded tv folder gets added to the watch list and I can no longer see anything in the movies library.

What can I do this is driving me mad?

Yeh I picked up that latest update, was kind of hoping it would fix things but it didn't. So may be I can break this problem down a bit - so a question for anyone with vista media center: is the folder that you record tv to (in my case d:/recorded tv) meant to be included in the list of folders watched as part of the 'library'?

OK I'll take another stab at this - does anyone know if it's possible to edit the list of 'watched' folders from outside of media centre? Is there like a list of folders in the registry or something?

might be worth doing this..

right click the 'Videos' folder in your 'user' area in windows, properties, location

set it as the root of your video folder that you want to use, this is how i use a folder called d:\Videos in media centre...

move any junk videos out of that folder first :)

edit, did you know this guy breeds Ligers

awesome stuff :d

Nice spot with the ligers! That monster of a cat he's got in those videos is incredible. Thanks for the tip about the video folder I'll give that a go tonight and also have a look where the other 'user' folders are pointing.
