For Christmas I did a fairly major rebuilt of my wife's computer.

Before she had an A8 7650K in a P180 mini case, 2x4GB of ram, 2x320GB HDD, 1x 500GB HDD and 1x 500GB 840 evo SSD. I decided to do a pretty serious upgrade for her when my brother decided to upgrade to a 6700K from the 4570k, I helped him build that beast into his new corsair case:

6700K + MSI M5 gaming Z170 + 16GB DDR4 3000 + HD7950 + 256GB 941 Samsung (AHCI)

I took the 4570K off of his hands, kept the ram and SSD and got my wife the Corsair 250D case as I wanted to shrink the build down:

One thing that has been constant over the last 8 years has been that PSU, a corsair VX450W, a seasonic based design that has been a real work horse (and really paid for having invested just a little more all that time ago). However with its age I decided to get something a little newer (and would allow a cleaner design):

Enter the leadex 550W platinum, plenty of power room without getting silly and I got it on the platinum for gold OCUK offer. I used it first in the review of the z170 G43 plus that MSI asked me to do and coped with a 6700K @ 4.7ghz and a volt modded titan-x at 1500/8000 so I know it's a decent supply.

Not perfect, but a lot cleaner than it was :)

I routed the power cables round the back this time:

The white light is coming from an LED strip I stuck to the top part of the chassis, it lights it up much more softly than the picture make it look and it helps me visually inspect everything is still clean inside :)

It looks pretty good through the top window:

The final settings:

Final specs:

4570K @ 4.4ghz (corsair H60 cooling)
8GB kingston 1600mhz CL9 @ 1866mhz CL10
4TB 7200rpm toshiba, 750GB 2.5" WD black, 500GB 840 evo
Stock 140mm in take + 120mm red LED corsair (high flow) in take + H60 (out take), dust likes to build up so positive pressure and the filters is a must.
550W Superflower Leadex platinum

Video encoding is a lot faster than it was and hopefully she is sorted for the next little while :)
