Volunteer working for SMB Charity that provides Learning opportunities for Adults with Learning Disabilities and trying to sort out the historic IT that has grown up over the years.

First issue I am addressing is there woeful WiFi offering:
  • 3Mb Down and 1Mb Up ASDL+
  • BT Smart Hub Wi-Fi Router only
  • 65% coverage of main admin building
  • Wi-Fi dropping in and out with 3+ people using it for ordinary web browsing/office applications.
  • Further complicated it by signing up for 5 VOIP Phone System which is chewing up the bandwidth as priority service.
Aim to address this as follows:
  • Purchase of new laptops with 802.11ax as the old ones are 5 years old and knackered.
  • Signing up to 200Mb lease line on 1Gb bearer
  • Installation of WiFi 6 Access Points to address the coverage issue and increase in number of users (10+)
  • New 24 port POE+ Switch
  • Microsoft 365 Premium
FINALY to the question "Leased line comes with a Cisco Router will it handle WiFi 6? My thoughts are that it's just moving packets inside/outside network so any decent router will do, it doesn't need to be WiFi 6 specific as the heavy lifting for that is done by the WiFi 6 Access Points"

Any thoughts and what to look out for in the router spec wise would be greatly appreciated.

PS If I am posting in the wrong forum or the wrong thread can you point me in the right direction.

It will just be a router, no WLAN.
