Can anyone recomend a good USB WiFi adaptor? Ideally if anyone knows one that works with win7 that would be a big bonus.

Its got to work with a sky router.

Thanks all.

Pretty much anything wifi G will work. Quality wise, you get what you pay for up to about £40 beyond that you wont notice it.
One thing to check is if the router is MIMO. MIMO is good but only works if both the router and adapter support it. MIMO adapters are more expensive but arguably worth it, but not if the router only works in SISO.

From my research last year, lots of people kept recommending USB adapters as opposed to PCI cards and the suchlike. Mainly because you can point or direct them, or elevate them. I had lots of trouble with PCI cards in the past (Linkysis) and now I'm using a Hawking USB satellite dish which is almost as if I'm hardwired to my router.

PCI cards suffer from having a short fixed arial and as PCI is naturally mounted low down at the back of the case you get lots of metal in the way which degrades the signal. You can get "free" arials that are on a lead and can be put away from the case and they usually solve the issue. Onboard ASUS P5B Deluxe is a prime example.
Hardware wise there's nt much in it between them.
