WiFi and health effects

I might go part wired because I have something like 42 network in my neighbourhood (thats just the ones my computer can pick sitting in my living room). Even if I get the wireless set up, its going to crawl.

As for health risks, your cell phone is more powerful and no one is going to throw those away.

And as for the wireless even if I switch off my router, do you think my neighbours (all 42+ of them) are going to switch it off ?

If anyone came and asked me to shut off my router due to health risks I would laugh at them and shut the door. And if anyone is that concerned, they should wallpaper their house in tinfoil and never exit. Cafes, train stations, restaurants, bus stops, homes - these are just a few of the places where they might pass which have wi-fi installed.

in our uni halls we got wifi installed, of course some idiot had to complain because of the health effects. we just told him line his door with tin foil and it will be fine.... and he did!!

My WiFi access point has a mean transmitter power of 54mW (0.054W). IIRC an average mobile phone handset transmits at a power of around 1W, about 20 times higher, at a longer, higher energy wavelength.

Scaremongerers like the teachers in the recent reports really irritate me. They should be far more concerned with the apalling behavior problems and violence in modern schools and the complete decline in standards than a slight rise in the background level of EMI.

I find it amusing that people that complain about WiFi and mobile phones, but tons of people go out in the summer sun with no sun cream on and i dont hear people screaming and complaining.

go figure...... never guess which is the higher killer out of those three..... ;)

mobile phones do worry me for no reason really, i think because if its not next to my head its usally by my nads, and i dont want to risk either no matter how small (the risk, not the anatomy)

I dont think theres much of a risk to adults, but too a child whose skull hasnt fully developed, is it worth the risk?
