i bought my parents a WDTV live player for Xmas and it struggles to keep the connection from the router because its upstairs and at the other side of the house. what would i need to prevent this problem. would it be some kind of power line adapters or something i have no idea , thanks.:)

Assuming an actual network cable isn't an option, I'd give a set of AV500 Powerline adapters a try.

Buy whatever you get on special offer, but given some recent posts on here it's probably best to avoid the TP-Link TL-PA411 adapters.

yeah a cable would be a pain to run through the house. Thanks i'll order one of them.

bit confused here. i typed in Netgear av500, it gave me the choice of a 500mbps Nano, 500mbps Nano kit, 500mbps Pass through or 500mbps Wi-Fi Extender/Access Point Kit which one do i need?
