Hi All I am after some info regarding wireless laptops. What is the best to use for speed and connection either a WiFi Mini Card internal or a WiFi Dongle usb 2.0 ? any feedback thanks

I have both and I prefer the WiFi card for the following reason.

A usb dongles tends to be quite large and require a usb extension cable. If you use the laptop on your lap the usb dangles and constantly gets snagged and pulls out when moving. The WiFi card doen't need removing to fit my laptop case/bag.

Performance wise I've seen no difference.

I have D-Link and cisco/Lynsis Wifi cards and the TP 300N usb dongle.

are you talking about an old laptop or something? i would have thought it would be impossible to find something new without wireless already built in.

Hi its a Dell D630 with a WiFi card built in just wondered if i,m doing right keeping that or get a dongle, but as said above its a bit of a pain when moving the laptop as the stick out a lot
