Hi, I currently have a netgear wired router for all my bits of kit but was wanting to use an ipod touch to connect to the internet etc.

Is it possible to buy a wifi dongle and attach this to my pc and use this to get internet access?

I don't realy want the outlay of a wireless router if I can get away with a quick and easier option if possible.

thanks

Any network guru's have any idea's or do I have to bite the bullet and just get a wireless router?

Can anyone recommend a good wireless router?

Could get a USB dongle and then use it as an ad hoc access point sharing the internet connection from your PC for the iPod Touch to use.

That was my idea as I generally have my pc on when I'm at home anyway.

I didn't know if this was the correct thinking though as I have no experience of wireless networking as everything I currently use is routed through a netgear 834.

You can do it with ad hoc through your PC but it will be a whole lot easier just to get the wireless router, cheap enough nowadays and if you are happy with your current wired netgear, get another one with wireless in.

Saves wasting electric switching the PC on just to get the touch online :)
