I was going to try and hi-jack a thread that has a similar issue but I thought I'd start a separate one lol.

My issue started not long ago, I had problems with my bt infinity so a technician came out, said the problem was most likely because of my old hub (was using the older 2.0 hub with infinity) and my modem was one of the original batches that had issues - so gave me new shiny 3.0 hub along with new modem. Did some speed tests all seemed fine - well on my laptop anyways, my laptop wifi card allows me to get around 38 Meg D/L speeds on speed tests (such as speedtest.net etc, however on my desktop up stairs (now this hose isnt big, the hub is under the stairs, and at the top is pretty much my room) and I have it connected via my belkin f5d8055v2 adapter, but running speed tests with this adapter I'm limited to around 10meg, the ping test btw that goes along with it has the laptop at around 40ms (even though its right beside the hub) and the desktop is at 25ms - yet at a slower speed - up until I received the bt hub 3.0 the desktop was always allowing me to obtain the 38 meg speed my line can handle - now this is doing my head in, it's most likely a software issue (and I can see myself phoning bt just to see) but before that, has anyone had a similar issue but with a resolution? My desktop is my main pc, and its quite annoying that my d/l speed is a 3rd of what my rather poor excuse for a laptop gets, I've tried a few reboots, uninstall and re-install adapter - in device manager for the wireless adapeter ive a few options to enable/disable - adhoc support 802.11n/ieee802.11h/ multimedia or gaming environment and radio, tried a few combinations of these and no solution as of yet.

Many thanks for any assistance you have!

Bit of an update - dont know exactly what I did but the desktop has moved to around 20 meg, when I turned on my laptop today and ran a speed test it too is limited to around 20 meg its as if the wifi is throttled, if I connect to my hub with an Ethernet cable from my laptop I can receive the full 38/39 meg my line can handle (though ping is 40ms which doesnt seem to make sense as its still 26ms with my wifi adapter on the desktop?) - I never had this problem with the 2.0 hub (although by the end it was disconnecting me every 10-15 min) and its only since I got the 3.0 hub, I've tried changing the wifi channel (instead of the "smart response" to channel 1,6,11,13 with no improvement)

Hope the above information helps anyone who can help :)

It def. is an n adapter - I was getting 38 ish meg before I got the new hub ( worked grand with 2.0 hub)

Dont have access to another wifi adapter

I dont know what could be causing interference as all the devices are the same prior to about 2 weeks ago when I got the new bt hub Ill run the speedtester in a minute and get back what my ip profile is - thanks for the feedback
