Annoyed at this, router used to be fine (2Years it's been ok) the channel isn't busy, checked it with inSSIDer, but it keeps doing this:

No idea why, when connected via ethernet it's fine, but need the wifi to work too. Have 3 laptops and 3 android phones connected to it, is fixed IPs going to help? Or is that a hassle to set up should we then take our phones out to connect to other wifi networks?

Does it happen with all connected devices? or just one machine?

If it's all

Change the channel.

Check for router firmware update. What router is it?

Consider doing a hard reset on the router to flush out any ghosts in the machine. -Make sure you know all settings before doing this! Especially ADSL connection details if that applies

If it's just one machine, then update the WLAN drivers

Also, set your Taskbar to combine, I agree in XP it was a pain. In W7, it's a godsend, especially with Aero-Peek

Thanks for the advice, been fiddling with this for the last few days now.
It's an IPTime N704M

It's the same over three machines, channel is empty, rest+upgraded router firmware.

Now it looks like this, I'm thinking is that roughly acceptable for what wifi is? Or should it be 100% constant? I don't game on this connection (would be on ethernet if I did) But I've an inkling it should be 100% Within site of the router sat here nothing in the way no microwaves/hairdryers/lead walls in the way!
