Morning All,

I'm currently using the TP-Link Archer AC1300 for the wifi connection to my desktop computer.

For context the router is downstairs in the living room, desktop computer is on the 1st floor towards the back of the house so a fair few walls etc to pass through. I get a decent enough connection speed with the TP-Link Archer but the signal does intermittently cut out which is frustating.

My question is are the PCIE Network Adapter cards significantly better then the USB adapters? I assume so but I've read a few articles online that suggest there isn't much of a difference anymore between them? Never had one before so just looking for some advice before potentially buying one!

Thanks all.

Pcie cards are normally better as usb dongles often suffer with overheating, the antennas are removable as well so there are several options, including options where the antennas are connected via a cable so that they can be moved away from the back of the pc case and up onto the desk etc.

These style of cards below are the sort you should look at imo
