It seems everyone who comes over nowadays wants to connect to the wifi, for a long time i didn't even like to have it switched on, trouble is everyone has a smart phone now and even i've just gone and bought one so the wifi is on 24/7.

I've made a complex key and it's wpa2 so thats secure, what im more concerned about is if it's safe to let everyone connect, can devices send maleware around the network and infect others and is there anything else i need to know?

Depending on your router, some have a separate guest profile so that may be an option? It means you can lock down what goes through it and make a slightly easier password

I have a Netgear DG834GT, i don't see anything that says guest network but there's an option for wireless isolation...

"If Enabled, the Wireless Stations will be hidden from each other, and will not be able to communicate with each other. For normal situations, this setting should be left at the default value of Disabled."

Should i turn that on?
