I got a pi3 for Christmas and thought I'd give Retropie a go. Easy to setup but I've ran into this issue twice now.

At first I was told to update by running sudo install / update or a command very similar. After this I found I was no longer connected to wifi and could no longer scan for networks. Decided to reflash the image to the SD card which resolved the problem but while scraping data in emulation station, the pi seemed to lock up.

All I could do was pull the plug and once it rebooted, the same issue was back.

I want to use the pi upstairs where wifi is my only option and wanted to be able to ftp into it for copying files to and from so really would like to come up with a better solution than having to reflash every time wifi decides to stop working again.

Are there any known fixes for wifi issues on these? perhaps a sudo command I can run?
