Well Fttc is just being installed in my street and apparently when the cab is finished we are inline for fttp trials (we have to stump up some of the installation but its being trialled in my area) however I'm going to have the modem installed in my living room. My pc is at the other end of the house upstairs and I really CBA to run a cable. Currently on a WiMAX and its going straight to my router next to my pc. However it's going to move. What do people think is better wifi or power plugs ? I'm also going to have my NAS drive on the network so really want speed. Can some one suggest the next best thing to running a cat6 cable. Ideally would like gigabit but that's obviously not going to happen so what's my options ?

I asked BT to move my master socket to my office where my main computers resides. The rest of the house is covered via WiFi.

100mbps :-( maybe I will look at running a cat6 upstairs. Wondering if I can use the aerial ducting in the wall go up into the loft then back down in the bedroom aerial duct as they both run to the unused free view antenna in the loft.

That still only delivers 175mbps, I'm now thinking of tying the cat6 to the end of the coax going up into the lost and pulling it up. I recon 15-20m would then be long enough to,drop down into the correct room. That would obv give me gigabit. Shame wireless is not fast enough yet
