Hi there. I am using my laptop connected directly to (huawei e5186s-22a) modem router with ethernet cable, internet working fine however i can not connect to wifi ( don't know password) . Is there anyway to find out wifi password using ethernet cable. Having said that the Modem huawei username and password are unknown .
Thanks in advance

No, WiFi and ethernet are separate.

Is it your home router? If so, you might be able to connect to the admin interface by browsing to the IP Address, you'll then be able to set the WiFi password that way potentially

Thank you both for your reply.
The modem huawei is 4g works with sim i have bought it form car boot sale has never been connected wirelessly therefore no wifi history SSID using the method
CMD
netsh wlan show profiles
netsh wlan show profile name=" SSID" key=clear

Hard reset and the default username/password is admin/admin.

Once you're in you can set whatever SSID and password you want.

Turn the router on and press the Factory Reset button for 15-20 seconds.

Right.....

Seriously man, Google your modem, and how to access it's web interface.

We don't know the IP range it's giving out, hence why you've been recommended to reset it back to defaults.

Hi . Everybody knows google search(common sense) . I wouldn't have asked if google had a solution . I have tried every methods given on websites , forums...etc. before posting here and did not work.
Ip address 192.168.8.1

So that's the IP address? Then you need to browse to it and type in the username / password, if it's not the default and you don't know it, then you need to reset it as per the reset button.

Sometimes it can just be 'admin' with no password, or admin / admin, or something else entirely. If there's not a sticker on the bottom of the router telling you otherwise, it's the default or whatever the person you purchased it from set it as.

You might need to hold the reset button down for a while rather than just pressing it, but this will reset everything, so be warned.

It is possible it’s not a standard Huawei router. It could be an OEM for an ISP in which case the default password might not be admin/admin but I doubt it.

So how did you connect to the WiFi? WPS?

Im assuming there is no sticker on it that says the default username and password?

Hi . There is no sticker have already tried reset holding button for a while . also tried admin/admin and other possible login credentials found on the net. Did not work.
Wifi successfully connect using wps and also works with ehternet cable. problem remain the same
