A guy at work has given me his laptop to fix as it isn't connecting to wifi.

It connects through cable, but not wirelessly. He said a new hard drive was put in and since the re-install of OS it hasn't worked.

Tried updating the driver but it didn't help.

Any ideas? It has a wifi light on the front that will not light up, is just a simple task of switching the wifi on? I can't find how to.

Is there a switch or a keyboard shortcut (such as Fn plus one of the function keys) to switch Wi-Fi on?

No, there is one for bluetooth though weirdly.

I fixed it anyway, it was a problem with something that I noticed in device manager. I updated that and it worked.
