I live in a coach house (all on one level which is up a staircase) and have a ring video doorbell which is downstairs and is the opposite end of the building from the router. The router is upstairs. I can not move the router as it is plugged into the main phone socket (sky router). I have been googling all day but can not find a good long range WiFi extender to bridge the gap. I have a ring chime pro which should bridge the gap but it doesn’t. Can someone please recommend a good, long range, reliable WiFi extender please. (I have no electric sockets near my front door either)!

Is this a coach house with the type of old fashioned solid, wireless unfriendly, construction you might imagine? If so you may be on a hiding to nothing.

If you do use an extender you wouldn't want by the front door. If the signal could get that far it could get to the doorbell. The extender would need to be installed somewhere in the middle where there's still a decent signal to be repeated and also within the extender's wireless range of the doorbell.

What I have seen in the past is to attach an external Wireless Access Point to a window using glass sucker mounts and then a flat network cable under the window sill back to the router. Ubiquiti UniFi UAP-AC-M is very easy to mount like that and it would definitely sort the problem out as it would be outside with the doorbell.
