To cut a long story short, wifi at work has just been switched off, our building is also like working in a tin can so although we are in the middle of Central London we barely get a cellular signal either. Is there any solutions that could provide us with internet? Obviously have no access to phone lines etc.

Do your pcs have internet? Install a the ethernet into a wireless router and then use another cable to plug it back in. Then enjoy wifi?
Just a heads-up. Depending on how corporate your work environment is and how they have their policies set up, you may find that setting up your own wireless access point on the company network is a sackable offense.
Otherwise, if you have some mobile signal say near a window, you could get a MiFi box to make that available further into the building.
You might get some mileage from something like Vodafone's Suresignal box - or other network's equivalent - but that would require plugging into the company network which, again, may get you sacked. If allowable, you might want to check what speed the 'mobile' data runs at over such a system as it appears that Vodafone's is only 384kbps.
