Has anyone used an OWL Intuition-CW? I am tempted to buy one as I am fed up with clumsy RF thermostats.

It looks amazing especially being able to log into a website away from home to set schedules etc.

It looks the best out of all the ones I have looked at...

I have the last gen version of THIS

WiFi connected thermostatic boiler control with a downloadable app and remote access. Good app which is very handy. Nice web interface and schedules are a doddle.

It is supplier agnostic so you don't have to be with BG (I myself am with SWALEC).

Unlike the NEST though it doesn't learn.

There's a review on that unit on Amazon. They mention the lack of display as a -ve.

I looked into getting a wifi 'Smart' thermostat, for all that smartphone/tablet/web control malarky, and was leaning towards one of these. But decided it was too expensive, a step too far (I had other housey stuff to buy) and opted for a traditional, 7 day programmer (which was still £100). :(

I fitted the Intution CW yesterday. Really like it, especially being able to monitor away from home and the temperature history. Given these WiFi devices are hardly much more expensive than clunky RF Thermostats, would be a wise purchase for anyone

I like the look of the tado, currently I have a wirless thermostat, the thermostat is turned on buy a timer that controls when the central heating/hot water are on during the day. Am I right in saying that I would replace the thermostat receiver box with the tado version and then on the timer have the CH set to permanently 'on'?

That's right, generally for any external thermostat you set the boiler to always on, and connect the common and switched live to the new relay unit from the boiler (for combis).

Pretty simple to install

I did like the look of Tado but it seems to be heavily dependant on the phone and absolutely smashes the battery. I think I'm going to go for the Hive.
