Just a quick question about getting the 360 setup on wifi.

I purchased a WifiMAX usb dongle a while ago with the purpose of using it for the DS and PSP. It worked fine but upgraded to a Netgear DG834G v3 wifi router shortly after anyway.

I then stuck it in the back of my old laptop so I could sit downstairs and access the web. Again it worked fine.

Will i be able to use this on the 360 or will i have to fork out the £50-60 for the official wifi adapter?

not sure about that but try it.

but if it doesnt you dont need to buy the expensive official adapter there is one sold by a games store that works for a fraction fo the price

If you need/want the convenience of the 360's own wifi setup then you will need to buy the official one.

If you are happy to have:
1)an additional power supply for the ethernet bridge
2) have to do 2 configs (one on the 360 for LAN to bridge) one on the web interface (to bridge its Ethernet to wirless).

Then buy a bridge (I think they are normally about £40 from OcUK).

If you use DHCP you shouldn't need to do anything to config the 360, just plug the bridge in and off you go. I believe you can also get a bridge that doesn't need an external power supply (is uses the USB port for power) but I've never seen / used one like that.
