Bought a Wii from a German retailer the other day and naturally it comes with a EU 2 pin plug.

Apart from using a travel adapter jobby, is there any way I can purchase a UK adapter? I've seen them listed on the Nintendo US store, but naturally these are only for use with North American wii's.

Anybody know if Nintendo are planning on making UK units available, or if they are already?

Ah think it may have been on auction site. Dont think it will be long before you can buy them they are cheap enough.

If they were the ones I looked at they were two pins anyway.

Emailed Nintendo a couple of days ago regarding the issue but haven't heard anything back yet.

I got off my arse to check for you. It doesn't snap off.

You could always lop the two prong end off and stick your own on, that would work wouldn't it?

Aye I don't see why not, the only thing in question here is the warranty.

Yeah, having lived in France for several years, we've got loads of thigns we bought on the continent and have had to alter to add a UK-style plug. As already said, it's a 5-minute job and cheaper than buying travel adapters.

Otherwise, if German plugs are anything like French ones, you can just push down the top part in the socket and then force your foreign plug into the 2 horizontal parts. The French ones fit perfectly snug, not tried that with any German plugs though.

Oh, don't blame me if you electrocute yourself cause your house has dodgy wiring ;)
