Hi guys,

Like many of you I'm picking up a Wii on Friday and trying to prepare my setup ;)

I've got a Hitachi 42PD7200 HDTV which has VGA/component/composite and RGB inputs. I use an external amp for the audio.

Now at the moment, I've got a 360 going into the components with digital optical going into my amp. These are the options as far as I can tell

1) leave xbox as is, and use the supplied wii composite cable, splitting the audio off into my amp

2) leave xbox as is, and buy a wii RGB cable, this should be better video, but can I split the audio off to my amp with this lead? if not, it will be pointless

3) use VGA for the xbox, and component for Wii. Sounds like the best option, but to me, the xbox doesn't look as good on 1280x720 as it does 1080i. Also rumour has it that component cables wont be available for the wii until after xmas :(

What do you guys think, or have I missed any options?

cheers

Option 2 for me, as the component cable isn't apparently getting here just yet. For audio from the solid SCART block, your TV should have Audio-Out, so you can always connect the TV to the amp that way, so the Wii sound goes through the TV first.

I've never actually had one myself, but shouldn't the fact that an RGB cable is all visual (Red, Green & Blue innit?) mean that there have to be seperate audio outputs from it?

So option 2 should be fine.

It does, good idea :)

Is there any idea on the leadtime for a component cable, it just seems a waste buying an RGB, then a component a month later.

He means RGB SCART, which will be a solid scart block. Different to Component RGB.
