I saw there is a new Wii coming out in Black this week, the deal seems pretty good as you seem to get quite a lot in the box.

I know there are a lot of users on here with a Wii who love them and others hate them. I have had a PS3 since launch and bought a 360 elite about 14 months ago. I have had every home Nintendo console apart from the Wii and was wondering is it really worth getting one? I know there are a lot of terrible games but I want the staple games like Zelda, Mario, Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Metroid, etc. What else would I need with the Wii, ie memory cards, wireless adapter, etc?

Just interested to hear peoples opinions who own at least one other console.

I wouldn't bother, wait till its at end of life then play through the games you want on the system and save money ;) (coming from a launch day owner).

Ive got a normal wii , its great for a random blast or a party, but serious gameing is defo a ps3/xbox/pc thing , recently ive been playing the wii more than my pc due to the disappointment of flashpoint 2.

so in short .. yes there good.. go buy ... play bowling until 3 in the morning and wake up unable to move your arm :)

I was tempted by this but then I remembered how little I used my old Wii from when they first came out, it was a lot of fun initially - especially Wii Sports with family and friends but on the non-social side of gaming (the likes of Zelda, Metroid etc) I don't think there's nearly enough available or coming out at the moment.

The other thing I am unhappy about is all downloadable purchases are tied to your console, not your account, so if you do get bored of your Wii and sell it on you will have to re-purchase any games you bought for it again on your new Wii.

It can be great fun, but if you play a lot of games you may run out of games to play on it for weeks at a time, depending on the sort've games you like.

Best thing I've done in my gaming life is sell my Wii and buy a PS3.

best thing I've ever done was not buy one in the first place and wait until my mum decided that Wii Fit was the answer to her problems and got one. All the benefits (few though they are) with none of the money :D

i've just sold my wii, i bought it end of May and used it about 3 times, i've had my 360 elite for 4 days and already used it at least 5 times longer than i used my wii for :)
