Wii component cable

Well i just received mine in the post today so i gave it a try along with Pro evo 2008 and...

I was so disapointed. I have a 50" Plasma HDTV, and all the players look really rough and jagged and all nasty...but the wii menu's and everything is so much clearer than before. I have changed my Wii to output 480p.

Is this normal?

The standard composite looked better than this!

Thanks for that, i wouldn't have wasted my money if i knew it was going to be this bad. Looks truly AWFUL with Pro 2008, haven't tried any other games yet as i have work to do..

Anyone else with pro 2008 and a component cable; does it look terrible as well?

Will give that a shot. I wasn't expecting it to look amazing, was just expecting an improvement over composite really.

Another thing is i have black bars on the sides of some of my games, pro evo being one of them. I have set my Wii and Tv to 16:9. Is this normal as well?
