Wii controller lag?

I've read in various places that the Wii controller suffers from lag, I realise that there are a few threads dotted about that mention this, however there are no threads that are specific to this possible problem.

I've been looking forward to a Wii for a while now and have the cash sitting in my pocket just waiting until I can pick one up off the shelf.

Having read a little about the lag I'm now concerned that the Wii may not be the console I'm after, I understand that it would be great fun with the family but the majority of my gaming still happens after they are all in bed :)

My questions are:

Does this lag really exist?

How bad is this lag?

Does it happen in all games?

Can Wii Zelda be played with a normal GC controller if it gets on my nerves?

Is this lag likely to be cured with an update from Nintendo?

There is definitely lag on the controllers especially if you are used to a mouse like an MX510 or similar. It's one of the reasons i won't be getting a Wii until they are about £50 each. Just like i did with the GC :) It bothers some people a lot, like me, and it doesn't bothers others at all. Best idea would be to try out a demo console somewhere or even better a friends, demo consoles can sometimes be misleading.

Sounds exactly like me , even down to the same mouse. Non of my mates have them so it's a tricky one.

Does altering the sensitivity make a difference? if this is possible?

Well, I got one today, it was a total suprise :)

Controller lags a bit here and there, I can't fathom the boxing at all (got beaten by my 5 year old son)

I have to say, it's incredible fun :D

Wii Sports and Play are all I have at the minute, more will soon follow.

Merry Christmas all

I've noticed the lag, especially in Red Steel which is horrible to control, slowly getting used to it, anytime you're using it like a mouse too its a bit laggy.

I'm not sure I'm convinced by the movement control, Wii Sports Tennis never seems to do what I'm telling it to do, whereas my brother and his GF make it look easy

I think us PC perfectionists have become too concerned with FPS and Dpi over the years, the control method isn't perfect on the Wii but it's just such damn good fun, the slight random element works in a room of people, the rest of the family would soon get sick of us winning if it were 100% precise :)
